They explain how legal and political trends are influencing the change to organic solutions and, as Cote asserts, why the "organic turf business is not just a passing craze."

"Spreading Compost and the Word", by Nora Goldstein March 2010.
In this Regional Roundup article, Daniel Cote, owner of Ecolawn, is featured with his story of trial and error, creating out of necessity the best self-propelled top dresser/compost spreader in the green industry, the Ecolawn Applicator. "I was able to top dress 10,000 sq. ft. by myself in less than an hour," he exclaims, of his machine that enables compost spreading with ease. With "more than 160 million acres of lawn" in North America alone, there is a lot of work that could easily, efficiently, and economically be handled by the Ecolawn Applicator.
Turf Magazine: "Organic Entrepreneurs," by Don Dale; July 2010.
Daniel Cote, owner of Ecolawn, is featured as an early visionary in the "going green" movement. Cote had firsthand experience with organic lawn maintenance and quickly saw the need for "a small, easily maneuverable piece of equipment that could be used to spread compost in small back yards and other contained areas." Thus he developed the Ecolawn Top Dresser. Now, 17 years later, with around 300 clients for his organic landscaping and a yearly increase in sales of his Top Dresser, Cote's vision of the demand for more natural practices has proven to be both correct and successful.
